Home league match played on 08 November 2008.
Kicked off at 10:00 AM

As the whistle blew Komboni tried his luck from the centre stop, but the Tornados defence stood firm, clearing the ball to safety.  Holloway and Powell then mounted an attack but this was quickly broken down by the Tornados, who turned this into an attack of their own.  Using good passing and speed, the Tornados were quickly into the Knights half of the pitch, and a well angled pass cut the knights defence in two; Blackbourn and Greenaway were unable to stop this advance and the Tornados slotted home the 1st goal of the match.   From the re-start the Tornados forced the Knights into making a mistake, and a goal bound shot was cleared by Courtnage, Choularton also rallied around to clear the danger by running the ball down the wing towards the Tornados goal.  Again the Tornados launched an attack, and a lone striker made some space to shoot, bringing Tadd, the Knights keeper into play, forcing him to save.  Tadd however, was unable to hold onto the ball and the quickest to react was a Tornados striker, who back heeled the ball into the side netting - a let off for the Knights.  Doel and Hooper combined through the mid-field, forcing the Tornados to concede a corner; Holloway took, powering the ball into the Tornados penalty area.  Their keeper came to collect the ball but because of the power of the cross from Holloway, the ball bounced off the keeper and into the net, giving the Knights their equaliser.  This spurred on the Knights and moments later were attacking again; Holloway skipped past a couple of players and it looked like he was tripped inside the Tornados penalty area, but this was not seen by the referee.  Later in the half the Tornados were awarded a corner, this was taken quickly and a striker was left unmarked in the box; he jumped high into the air and headed home the Tornados 2nd goal of the match.

As the 2nd half started, the Knights quickly attacked the Tornados goal but their defence stood firm, clearing the ball up-field, forcing Choularton and Blackbourn to concede a corner.  As the corner came across, there was mass confusion in the Knights penalty area, Greenaway tried to clear the ball but this was intercepted, allowing the Tornados to slot home another goal.  The Tornados then rained down attack after attack on the Knights goal, and Powell chased back to stem the flow of attacks.  However, shot followed shot and Tadd had to make a few quick saves, one save Tadd could not hold onto the ball and as he rushed out to collect, he collided with an attacker, a penalty was awarded, harshly in the eyes of all those watching.  The penalty taker struck the ball firmly but lifted the ball onto the bar, which rebounded back into play, 2 Tornado strikers rushed in and managed to flick the ball into the net, given them a 4-1 lead.  From this point on the Knights looked drained, lacking the energy to challenge for the ball; and this was evident when a Knights goal kick was intercepted by a Tornados player, who quickly fired in a shot which beat everybody before striking the back of the net.  The Knights, at this stage, were disheartened but Powell rallied around forcing the Knights back into the game; he released Holloway down the wing who forced the Tornados into conceding a corner.  As the corner came in Hooper was the first to react, slotting home a goal for the Knights, but as feared, this was too little too late, and the referee brought the match to an end.  The manager decided that the only player worthy of the Man of the Match award was Powell, his drive and commitment held the Knights together and stopped the Tornados attacking, time and time again, Powell was an example that the rest of the team should follow.
