Home league match played on 06 March 2010.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

Mytchett started strongly, forcing the Knights onto the back foot but the defensive line-up of Blackbourn, Courtnage, and Garland & Komboni stood firm, clearing this danger away.  Then Mytchett struck again, passing the ball through the Knights defence, a shoot at goal brought Tadd, the Knights keeper into play, as he made a good save to deny the opening goal.  The Knights then mounted an attack, Holland & Holloway combining to send Sellitto forward, Sellitto passed to Doel who went for goal, lifting the ball over the Mytchett keeper but his effort hit the cross-bar.  From a Mytchett goal-kick, Blackbourn intercepted & passed to Sellitto, he rounded a defender before releasing Holloway but the Mytchett keeper saw the danger & quickly rushed out to collect the ball.  Mytchett then fought their way forward, passing well which allowed a lone striker an attempt on goal, but again Tadd was up to the challenge, stopping a goal-bound effort.  As the play settled, the Knights were awarded a throw-in, taken by Komboni, Owen flicked the ball onto Holland; Holland struck for goal but the Mytchett keeper was alert & saved well.  Moments later Garland cleared the ball up-field for Sellitto to chase, he slotted the ball through to Holloway and sprinted down the wing; he looked up, saw Doel waiting, he threaded the ball to him; Doel pounced & sent the ball into the net but this was ruled off-side.  The Knights took a quick Throw-in, taken by Garland, helped forward by Hooper, Grundy & Gardener; a well timed pass released Holland, he headed straight for the Mytchett goal.  Head down Holland pounded forward, rounding a defender before letting his shot go, giving the Mytchett keeper no chance, 1-0 Knights.  As the half was drawing to a close Komboni took another throw-in, helped forward by Hooper & Powell, Holloway saw an opening; he struck for goal but his effort went wide.

From defence the Knights forged forward, Owen, Gardener & Hooper sending Holland & Holloway goal-ward; but this combination of play ended with Holloway’s shot clearing the bar.  Throw-in by Komboni towards Powell, but Mytchett cleared, but only as far as Owen; Owen looked up & went for goal; what looked like a certain goal was stopped by the Mytchett keeper, who brought off a good save.  Mytchett then came forward again, forcing the Knights to concede a throw-in; quickly taken the ball was flicked through the Knights area, behind the defensive line.  A lone striker rushed in, thundering the ball into the net, bringing Mytchett their equaliser.  Mytchett then kept coming, Hooper, Courtnage, Blackbourn, Garland & Grundy all playing their part in keeping them at bay.  Owen & Powell then cleared the ball up-field, where Holloway forced Mytchett to concede a corner; Holloway took, the Mytchett keeper came to collect, but he couldn’t hold onto the ball & Doel pounced, slipping the ball into the net, 2-1 Knights.  This appeared to trigger a mass Mytchett attack, by good play & passing, soon found themselves with a scoring opportunity; but the presents of Courtnage, Garland & Hooper in defence for the Knights forced the Mytchett striker to send his effort over the bar.  Mytchett came again, & soon were headed towards the Knights goal, a high shot rained in but Rust reach up high & plucked the ball from what looked like a certain goal.  This hard fought match was brought to a close, with the Knights coming out on top, but it could have gone either way; the only thing left to do was to award the man of the match.  The manager decided that Hooper deserved the award this week, due to the fact that he played in many different positions, and he play in them well.
