Away league match played on 29 November 2008.
Kicked off at 10:00 AM

Rushmoor applied the pressure from the start, but Choularton, Komboni and Courtnage all played their part keeping them at bay.  The Knights then launched an attack of their own, forcing Rushmoor to concede an early corner; this was taken by Holloway and the shoot by Greenaway was saved by the Rushmoor keeper.  The Knight then surged forward again, Komboni slipped the ball to Holloway who skipped past a Rushmoor defender before releasing Doel; Doel struck the ball towards the Rushmoor goal, their keeper dived on the ball but the pace was just too much and the ball squeezed its way into the net, 1-0 to the Knights.  From this moment on, the Knights forced the play, pushing Rushmoor deep into their own half; Greenaway had a shot on goal but this was well saved by the Rushmoor keeper.  Holloway and Doel combined again but this time Doel’s effort was saved.  As the Knights were attacking the Rushmoor goal, a well timed tackle and clearance allowed Rushmoor to launch a counter-attack.  Feeding the ball through the middle of the pitch, Rushmoor bore down on the Knights goal; Tadd, the Knights keeper came out to meet the advancing forwards, but a well placed shot beat him.  As the ball was heading towards the Knights goal, Choularton stretched out a leg but was unable to apply enough force to divert the ball away, giving Rushmoor their equaliser.  This encouraged Rushmoor to venture forward more, forcing Komboni to concede a corner; as the corner came into the Knights area Greenaway headed clear to Courtnage, a long ball by him released Holloway and as he headed for the Rushmoor goal, 2 Rushmoor defenders stood firm and stopped this promising attack.  Rushmoor then changed their tactics, using the wings to launch an attack; as a Rushmoor attacker crossed the ball Tadd reach high to push the ball away, clearing the danger.  Powell collected the ball and headed goal-ward, with the help of Holloway, these 2 attackers look certain to score but a defender managed to deflect the ball wide for a Knights corner.  As Rushmoor clear the corner, and started attacking the Knights goal, the Knights defence were outnumbered; a well placed shot beat Tadd, but Komboni was on hand to clear off the line, saving the Knights.

As the 2nd half started, Rushmoor won the battle in mid-field, forcing Tadd to save very early in this half.  Powell then floated the ball forward to Holloway, but the Rushmoor keeper was quickly off his line which put enough pressure on Holloway, and his shot went wide.  Rushmoor took the goal-kick quickly, which caught the Knights a little by surprise; and as Rushmoor passed the ball forward a lone striker bore down on the Knights goal.  Tadd reacted but the Rushmoor striker saw him coming and slipped the ball past him and into the net, 2-1 Rushmoor.  Hooper was brought on to inject some pace into the Knights side, and soon he was deeply involved in a Knights attack.  As Hooper laid the ball forward for Powell, he quickly rounded a defender before releasing Komboni, who was able to get into a scoring position; Rushmoor had other ideas and cleared the ball away.  Powell and Greenaway then combined to mount an attack, and when Powell collected the ball on the edge of the Rushmoor penalty area he only had one thought on his mind, and that was to score.  Using good individual skills Powell forced his way into the area and fired home a shot, the Rushmoor keeper was unsighted which gave the Knights their 2nd goal of the match.  With the half nearing completion the Knights once again forced the play in the Rushmoor half of the pitch.  Hooper passed to Doel who released Greenaway but his effort was deflected for a corner.  Taken by Holloway, Powell was the first to response, and keeping a level head slotted home the Knights 3rd goal; with only a few minutes remaining Rushmoor needed to push forward, but the Knights team, as a whole, defended well, holding Rushmoor at bay until the final whistle, giving the Knights a well deserved 3-2 win.  The man of the match award was given to Powell, because of his strength and total dedication throughout the entire match.
