Away league match played on 01 September 2013.
Kicked off at 10:00 AM

The Galacticos kicked off there new campaign with a convincing win against Frontline. After a headache on Saturday sorting pitches etc with the home side failing to secure a pitch the game was moved to our dreaded pitch at Tabor on the 3g.

The Galacticos started well and put themselves into the lead after 3 minutes with Adam Ratcliffe running in on goal and blasting the ball into the top left hand corner after a great through ball from Jamie Lawes. The away side then got a bit sloppy and some of the passes began to go a little astray and was punished after 10 minutes when Frontline equalised. The goal livened up Witham and they began to be a constant threat With Adam Ratcliffe breaking through the back four time and time again only for a few heavy passes and the lino stopping him increase his tally. Mccormack was also finding alot of space outwide and the Frontline full backs struggled to contain the pace and trickery of the Galacticos wingers. The pressure rewarded Witham with a goal after 20 minutes when centre back Adam Clark found Ryan McCormack with a fantastic ball and McCormack slotted home to restore the lead to 2-1. Jamie Lawes and Mitchell Yeo were now bossing the final third and were stringing passes together and breaking up the Frontline play with some upfield pressure restoring the homeside to long balls to there dangerous and pacey winger but the back four dealt with it well. 39 minutes into the game a throw in on the left was controlled well by Kane Orr who superbly then lobed the ball over the keeper for Jamie Lawes to head in and give the Galacticos a 2 goal cushion and 5 minutes later on the stroke of half time Ryan Mccormack doubled his tally after a defense splitting ball from Mitchell Yeo.

Half Time: Frontline 1 Witham Galacticos 4

The Galacticos came out for the second half with aim of getting the next goal and killing the game but on 51 minutes the home side had different ideas and reduced the defecit to 2 goals, but the Galcaticos bounced back and within a minute Kane Orr scored with a cracking finish after another defence splitting ball from Jamie Lawes. The Galacticos were now in full flow and broke the home teams spirit 6 minutes later when the Galacticos got there 6th goal after a 25 yard pass from Mitchell Yeo found Jamie Lawes who slotted home to get his second of the game. The home side was still playing long and the Frontline winger who was dangerous through out the game was still trying to find a way through but Del Ballard kept him at bay with some well timed challenges and with the support of Mccormack on the right never game him an inch (Del and Ryan later joked in our debrief that they enjoyed doubling up together, and Ryan had a massive grin on his face!).Withams 7th came on 61 minutes when Kane Orr grabbed his second goal after a hat trick of assists from Mitchell Yeo, Kane Orr was in the thick of the action again minutes later when bearing down on goal from the left the Frontlines centre back cut Kano down but strangely the ref turnt the Galacticos appeals down....Kano not to be out down gave the defender a little bit of his own medicine when the ref turnt his back and the Frontline team reacted angriliy. The ref dealt with the situation and spoke to both players. The Home side was now clearly frustrated and some heavy tackles were flying in but on 74 minutes Adam Ratcliffe picked up a pass from Kano 20 yards out and blasted the ball into the bottom left hand corner to grab his second goal of the game and the Galacticos 8th. In the 85th minute Aaron Williams came on for Jamie Adams who had a solid game in his unfavourable position and the Galacticos saw out the game comfortably to go top of the league : )

Next for us is a home game against our rivals Terling Villa who ive heard from inside sources that they want to play a more attractive and effect style of football this year...they have been working strongly in training on passing the ball from one centre back to the other before punting it 80 yards upfield.
