3rd Bangor was founded in 2017 by a group of friends who wanted to create a competitive football team for players who were not good enough to play for the first team. The team started out in the Bangor and District League and quickly moved up to the Ards & North Down Football League.
The team has had a successful history, winning the Ards & North Down Football League in 2020 and 2022. They have also reached the final of the North Down Cup on several occasions.
