A.F.C. Whiteley was established by Dave Sherwood, Janice Knight, Jack Allan and Janet Hedges in May 2000 with a single under 18s team playing in the City of Southampton Youth Football League.
This team finished their first season mid table and with several players too old to continue in youth football a men's team was entered into the Gosport & Fareham League.
The others remained in the youth team for a further year, finishing third in their division, and it is those remaining players that formed the nucleus of the former Solent team.
Both teams will compete in the newly formed Gosport, Fareham and Solent league from the 2013/2014 season
