Anfield FC is one of the most successful football clubs in Kerala, having won the Kerala Premier League title a record 10 times. The team has also won the Kerala State Football League on four occasions.
History
Anfield FC was founded in 1950 by a group of football enthusiasts in Thrissur. The team's name was inspired by the famous Anfield stadium in Liverpool, England.
Anfield FC quickly became one of the top football clubs in Kerala, winning the Kerala Premier League title for the first time in 1955. The team went on to win the title a further nine times, most recently in 2022.
Anfield FC has also enjoyed success in the Kerala State Football League, winning the title on four occasions. The team's most recent victory in the state league came in 2019.
Recent season
Anfield FC had a successful season in 2022-23, winning the Kerala Premier League title for the 10th time. The team also reached the final of the Kerala State Football League, but lost to Gokulam Kerala FC.
Anfield FC's most impressive performance of the season came in the 2023 IFA Shield. The team reached the semi-finals of the tournament, where they were defeated by Mohun Bagan.
