CADDINGTON CHEQUERS FOOTBALL CLUB following new sponsorship from The Chequers in Caddington saw the third name for the side affectionally known by their supporters as 'THE CLUB'. CCFC currently compete in the Leighton & District Sunday League.

Rising Sun F.C were formed in 2008 by Sir Sean Trowell and Richard Woods CBE. Their desire for a new team to overtake Luton Town's monopoly on Luton football saw this creation, the team was nearly named 'Inter The Pub' but this was stopped by Beds FA. Rising's first year was a dissapointing one, mainly due to a lack of commitment from its players, however their second year provided a greater improvement and a mid table finish in the old Luton Sunday League.

In the year 2009 Trowell bought out business partner Woods' shares to take sole ownership of the club. However this was short lived and in 2011 an unamed oil rich arab businessman made Trowell an offer he could not refuse and the club are now under ownership of a mysterious arab.

History

The club was founded in 2008 by Sir Sean Trowell and Richard Woods CBE. They were originally named Rising Sun FC, but were forced to change their name due to a copyright issue.

The club's first season was in 2008-09, and they finished in 10th place in Division 4. They have since gone on to win promotion to Division 3 in 2010-11, and Division 2 in 2012-13.

The club's current manager is Andy Smith.
