Collingham Cougars is a youth football team based in Cranleigh, Surrey. The team was founded in 1976 and currently has teams for boys and girls aged 5-16.
The Cougars play their home games at the Cranleigh Playing Fields. The club has a strong reputation for developing young players and many former Cougars have gone on to play professional football.
History
Collingham Cougars was founded in 1976 by a group of local parents. The club started with just one team, but it quickly grew in popularity and now has teams for boys and girls aged 5-16.
The Cougars have a strong tradition of success. The club has won numerous trophies at local, county, and regional level. In 2009, the Cougars' under-16 boys team won the FA Vase, the national cup competition for amateur teams.
The Cougars have also produced a number of professional footballers. Former Cougars players include Ryan Bertrand (Southampton and Chelsea), Ben Brereton (Blackburn Rovers), and Max Lowe (Sheffield United).
