History
Edinburgh United was founded in 1905 by a group of local footballers. The team initially played in the Edinburgh and District League, before joining the East of Scotland League in 1923. Edinburgh United enjoyed a period of success in the 1950s and 1960s, winning the East of Scotland League title on four occasions.
The team has struggled in recent years, and currently plays in the East of Scotland League First Division. However, Edinburgh United remains a popular team in the city, and has a strong following of supporters.
