Elstow Abbey First Football Club was founded in 1920. The club played in the Bedfordshire County League from 1921 to 1977, before moving to the Spartan South Midlands League. The club returned to the Bedfordshire County League in 2015.
The club's most successful period came in the 1970s, when they won the Bedfordshire County League title in 1973 and 1975. The club also reached the final of the Beds Senior Trophy in 1974.
