FC Vigani is a football team based in Malé, the capital of the Maldives. The team was founded in 1978 and currently competes in the Maldives Premier League, the top division of Maldivian football.
FC Vigani is one of the most successful teams in Maldives football, having won the Maldives Premier League 12 times and the Maldives FA Cup 10 times. The team has also represented the Maldives in the AFC Cup on several occasions.
History
FC Vigani was founded in 1978 by a group of friends who were passionate about football. The team quickly rose through the Maldivian football pyramid and won its first Maldives Premier League title in 1982.
FC Vigani went on to win the Maldives Premier League a further 11 times, most recently in 2022. The team has also won the Maldives FA Cup 10 times, most recently in 2021.
FC Vigani has also represented the Maldives in the AFC Cup on several occasions. The team's best performance came in 2018, when they reached the group stage of the competition.
