Filtre Football Club was founded in 1970 by a group of young men in Hiran. The club quickly became one of the most successful clubs in Somalia, winning its first Somali Premier League championship in 1975.
Filtre went on to win the Somali Premier League championship five more times, in 1980, 1982, 1985, 1988, and 2020. The club also won the Somali Cup five times, in 1976, 1981, 1983, 1987, and 2019.
Recent Performance
Filtre finished in third place in the Somali Premier League in 2021. The club also reached the semi-finals of the Somali Cup, where they were defeated by Mogadishu City.
Filtre is currently managed by Mohamed Abdirizak. The club's home stadium is the Hiran Stadium in Beletweyne.
