Franklin Football Club was founded in 1975 by a group of friends who were passionate about football. The club quickly rose through the ranks of the Nigerian football pyramid and reached the Nigeria Premier League in 1980.
The club spent two seasons in the Premier League before being relegated in 1982. Franklin Football Club has remained in the lower leagues ever since.
Recent seasons
Franklin Football Club finished third in the Nigeria National League in the 2021/22 season. This was the club's best finish in recent years.
The club is currently competing in the 2022/23 Nigeria National League.
