More about the team

An introduction to the team, who we are, and what we are about, I'm Ben and I've been a huge Gills fan since I can remember, 3 years ago I founded my own Gills fans team, Gillingham Supporters FC, to play in a charity match I organised against Coventry fans at Boreham Wood in London, after that event we weren't active but got going again in the summer of last year, playing in a Tournament at Ebbsfleet's Stonebridge road, and various other teams in friendlies with good success.

We decided to combine with another group of lads to compete in the IFA (Internet Fans Association) league, to play against fans teams up and down the country, with games usually taking place on Saturday mornings before the main game in the afternoon, home or away.

A fantastic debut season followed, finishing 12th out of 74 teams in Britain, with highlights such as winning 5-1 at Tranmere's Prenton Park stadium.

This Summer we decided to go back our separate ways, James Hawkins was to become joint manager with me and we began our rebuilding process, we've entered the IFA League for the forthcoming season, and after losing all our previous players, we've managed to pull together a talented young squad of players, and tried to instil our brand of good passing football, both coming from professional coaching backgrounds this is the way we like to play and believe it is the right way. We're also delighted to say that Gills Independent Supporters Club have kindly agreed to sponsor and support us and as such we have now changed our name to signify this exciting new partnership, we will now be known as GISC FC.

We still welcome anyone to come along and get involved in the team, if you are interested please do get in touch with us on Twitter at either @GillinghamSFC, @GFC_Ben or @GillsJH, or alternatively you can email us atGillinghamSFC@Hotmail.co.uk.

We hope you can be part of our exciting footballing journey,

Up the Gills!
