Haidary United Football Team

Haidary United is a football team from Old Delhi, India. They were founded in 1928 and are one of the oldest and most successful clubs in the country.

Haidary United have won the Indian Football Association (IFA) Shield a record 10 times, as well as the Durand Cup and the Rovers Cup on multiple occasions. They have also represented India in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League on several occasions.

History

Haidary United were founded in 1928 by a group of students from the Haidary College in Old Delhi. The club's first president was Mr. Syed Mohammad Haider, after whom the club is named.

Haidary United quickly became one of the top teams in India, winning their first IFA Shield in 1930. They went on to win the Shield a further nine times, most recently in 1972.

Haidary United have also won the Durand Cup on five occasions, the Rovers Cup on four occasions, and the IFA League on three occasions.

Recent History

Haidary United have not won any major trophies since 1972, but they remain one of the most popular and respected clubs in India. They currently play in the I-League Second Division, the second tier of Indian football.
