History
The club was founded in 1989 as a successor to Maidstone United, which had folded in 1987. The new club adopted the same colours and badge as the old club, and played their home games at the Gallagher Stadium.
Maidstone United won the Southern League Premier Division in 1996, earning promotion to the Football Conference. The club spent six seasons in the Conference, before being relegated in 2002.
Maidstone United won the Conference South in 2016, earning promotion back to the National League. The club were relegated in 2019, but won the National League South title again in 2022.
