Mbale Heroes FC is a football (soccer) team based in Mbale, Uganda. The team was founded in 1969 and currently competes in the Uganda Premier League, the top tier of Ugandan football.
Mbale Heroes FC has won the Uganda Premier League on two occasions, in 1978 and 1981. The team has also won the Uganda Cup on three occasions, in 1977, 1980, and 1981.
History
Mbale Heroes FC was founded in 1969 by a group of young men from Mbale. The team's first home ground was the Mbale Municipal Stadium.
Mbale Heroes FC quickly became one of the top teams in Uganda. In 1978, the team won the Uganda Premier League for the first time. The team repeated as champions in 1981.
Mbale Heroes FC also won the Uganda Cup on three occasions, in 1977, 1980, and 1981.
In the 1990s, Mbale Heroes FC struggled financially and was relegated from the Uganda Premier League. The team has since bounced back and is currently competing in the top flight.
