Newent Town Football Club is a football club based in Newent, Gloucestershire, England. They currently play in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Division One, the ninth tier of the English football league system.
The club was founded in 1892 and has played at their current home ground, Wildsmith Meadow, since 1922. Newent Town have won the Hellenic League on two occasions, in 1993-94 and 2000-01.
The club's most famous player is probably Micky Evans, who went on to play for West Bromwich Albion and England. Other notable players to have played for Newent Town include Steve Cotterill, who is now the manager of Bristol City, and Danny Hylton, who currently plays for Luton Town.
Recent History
Newent Town finished fifth in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Division One in 2021-22, their highest league finish since 2009-10. They also reached the final of the Hellenic League Cup, where they lost to Tuffley Rovers.
The club's current manager is Ben Stringer, who took over in 2021. Stringer is a former player of Newent Town and has also managed the club's reserve team.
