Introduction

GNK Dinamo Zagreb (English: Dinamo Zagreb Citizens' Football Club), commonly referred to as GNK Dinamo Zagreb or simply Dinamo Zagreb (pronounced [dinamo zâ?greb]), is a Croatian professional football club based in Zagreb. Dinamo play their home matches at Stadion Maksimir. They are the most successful club in Croatian football, having won twenty-four Prva HNL titles, sixteen Croatian Cups, seven Croatian Super Cups, and one Inter-Cities Fairs Cup.

The club was founded in 1911 as HŠK Gradanski Zagreb. It was renamed Dinamo Zagreb in 1945, after the end of World War II. Dinamo has been a regular participant in European competitions, and has reached the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League on three occasions.

The club's most famous player is Davor Šuker, who won the Golden Boot at the 1998 FIFA World Cup. Other notable players who have played for Dinamo include Robert Prosinecki, Zvonimir Boban, and Luka Modric.

Recent History

Dinamo Zagreb have been dominant in Croatian football in recent years, winning the Prva HNL title in each of the last 10 seasons. They have also won the Croatian Cup in 6 of the last 7 seasons.

In European competitions, Dinamo reached the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League in 2011-12 and 2016-17. They also reached the round of 16 in the UEFA Europa League in 2017-18.

Dinamo's current manager is Ante Cacic. He was appointed in June 2022.
