Omonoia Nicosia

Omonoia Nicosia is a Cypriot professional football club based in Nicosia. The club was founded in 1948 and has since won 21 Cypriot First Division titles, 16 Cypriot Cups, and 17 Cypriot Super Cups. Omonoia is one of the most successful clubs in Cyprus and is considered to be one of the "Big Three" clubs in the country, along with APOEL and Anorthosis Famagusta.

History

Omonoia was founded on 4 June 1948 by a group of Greek Cypriot athletes. The club's name means "Unity" in Greek. Omonoia's first home ground was the GSP Stadium, which it shared with APOEL. In 1989, Omonoia moved to its own stadium, the Tsirion Stadium.

Omonoia results

Omonoia's most successful period was in the 1970s and 1980s, when the club won 14 Cypriot First Division titles, 7 Cypriot Cups, and 5 Cypriot Super Cups. Omonoia also reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in 1983.

Omonoia has continued to be a successful club in recent years. The club won the Cypriot First Division in 2010, 2016, and 2022. Omonoia also won the Cypriot Cup in 2011 and 2022.
