Pentagon Reserves FC was founded in 1972 by a group of friends who met at the Pentagon pub in Gillingham. The team initially competed in local amateur leagues, but they soon moved up the ranks and began playing in more competitive leagues.

In the early 2000s, Pentagon Reserves FC joined the Kent County League. The team has since been a regular in the league, and they have even won the championship on a few occasions.
