History
PORTUGAL FC was founded in 2016 by a group of investors from Portugal and India. The club's first season in the ISL was in 2017-18. They finished the season in 8th place.
In the 2018-19 season, PORTUGAL FC finished the season in 5th place. They qualified for the playoffs for the first time, but were knocked out in the semifinals by Chennaiyin FC.
In the 2019-20 season, PORTUGAL FC finished the season in 6th place. They did not qualify for the playoffs.
