Real Escocia was founded in 1999 by a group of Spanish immigrants living in Kirkcaldy. The team's name is a reference to the Spanish royal family.
Real Escocia won their first trophy in 2003, when they won the Fife Amateur Cup. They have since won the cup a further three times, in 2007, 2011, and 2017.
