Real Valladolid Club de Fútbol, S.A.D., or simply Real Valladolid (pronounced [re'al ßa?aðo'lið]) or Valladolid, is a Spanish professional football club based in Valladolid, Castile and León, Spain that competes in Segunda División, the second tier of the Spanish league system.
The club was founded on 20 June 1928 from the merger of Real Unión Deportiva de Valladolid and Club Deportivo Español. The team's home ground is the Estadio José Zorrilla, which seats 27,846 spectators.
Valladolid's honours include a single trophy of great relevance, the defunct Copa de la Liga 1983–84. The club has also reached the final of the Copa del Rey on two occasions, in 1949 and 2001.
Valladolid's most famous player is Ronaldo Nazário, who bought the club in 2018 and is currently the club's president.
Recent history
Valladolid spent the 2021-22 season in La Liga, the top tier of Spanish football. The club finished in 18th place, which meant they were relegated to Segunda División.
