Red Star Bangor FC was founded in 2017 by a group of friends who wanted to create a football team that was open to players of all abilities and backgrounds.
The team's first season was in the 2017-18 season, when they competed in the North Down & Ards Football League Division 2. The team finished the season in 6th place.
In the 2018-19 season, the team moved up to Division 1. The team finished the season in 4th place.
In the 2019-20 season, the team was promoted to the Premier Division. However, the season was abandoned due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The team is currently competing in the Premier Division of the North Down & Ards Football League.
