The team quickly grew in popularity and within a few years, it had become one of the most successful amateur football teams in Switzerland.
In 2018, Rolling Thunder Bern won promotion to the 2. Liga interregional, the fourth tier of Swiss football. The team has since established itself as a force in this league, finishing in the top half of the table in each of the last three seasons.
