Sawtry Reserves were founded in 1997 as a reserve team for Sawtry FC. They initially played in the Huntingdonshire League, before moving to the Peterborough & District Football League in 2002.
The club has won the Peterborough & District Football League Division 6 title twice, in 2004-05 and 2012-13. They have also reached the final of the Peterborough & District Football League Challenge Cup on three occasions, in 2005, 2013, and 2019.
