More about the team
Back in 1994 a group of people from the local Sainsbury in Farlington decided to create a Sunday league football team. That team was known as Farlington.
Starting in Division 6 of the Portsmouth Sunday League wearing a nice purple shirt Farlington started their slow progression through the leagues of Portsmouth before reaching the dizzy heights of Divison 1.
Former players included Gav Earl, Dave Morling, Dean Matthews, Ben Drain and the much loved Karl Stronstad.
The team then changed their name from Farlington to Stronstad Utd in memory of former player Karl Stronstad that sadly passed away.
The team reformed and started in Division 5 where they managed to finish runners up behind a strong Watersedge Park side. Stronstad also got the to Adelaide Cup semi finals and also the Hampshire Cup Quarter finals.
In Division 3 Stronstad played some excellent football and even though they finished 4th they were good enough to be promoted to Division 2.
Having finished 3rd in Divsion 2 Stronstad have now been promoted to Division 1
