Sunderland Forsters is a football (soccer) team based in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, England. The team was founded in 1964 and currently plays in the Northern League Division One, the ninth tier of English football.
History
Sunderland Forsters was founded in 1964 by Derek Forster, a former Sunderland goalkeeper who became the club's youngest ever player when he made his debut at the age of 15 in 1964. The club initially played in local leagues, but they were promoted to the Northern League in 1972.
Sunderland Forsters have won the Northern League Division One on three occasions, in 1991, 2002, and 2019. They have also reached the final of the FA Vase on two occasions, in 1992 and 2019.
