Wrekenton Reds Football Club is a football club based in Hebburn, Tyne and Wear, England. The club was founded in 1947 and currently plays in the Wearside League Division One.
History
Wrekenton Reds were founded in 1947 by a group of local men. The club initially played in the Hebburn and District League, before moving to the Wearside League in 1950. Wrekenton Reds have won the Wearside League title on four occasions, in 1957, 1962, 1972 and 2009.
The club has also competed in the FA Vase on several occasions, reaching the semi-finals in 1972. Wrekenton Reds have a long-standing rivalry with Hebburn Town, with whom they contest the Hebburn derby.
Ground
Wrekenton Reds play their home games at Hebburn Sports Centre. The ground has a capacity of 2,000 spectators.
