Best United FC was founded in 1995 by a group of local residents who wanted to create a football team that would represent their community. The team quickly rose through the ranks of the South African football league system and, in 2015, they were promoted to the South African National First Division.
In their first season in the National First Division, Best United FC finished in a respectable 10th place. The team has continued to improve in recent years and, in 2022, they finished in 6th place.
