The Clippers are a football (soccer) team from Detroit, Michigan. They were founded in 1972 and currently play in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL). The Clippers have won the NPSL Midwest Region Championship four times, in 2004, 2005, 2007, and 2012.
History
The Clippers were founded in 1972 by a group of local businessmen. The team's first home ground was at Wayne State University. The Clippers joined the NPSL in 2003 and have been a member of the league ever since.
The Clippers have had a number of successful seasons in the NPSL. They won the Midwest Region Championship in 2004, 2005, 2007, and 2012. The Clippers have also reached the NPSL National Championship Game twice, in 2005 and 2012.
