The team was founded in 2009 by a group of African immigrants who wanted to create a team that represented the diversity of the city. FC Africa currently competes in the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA), a third-tier league in the United States.
History
FC Africa was founded in 2009 by a group of African immigrants who wanted to create a team that represented the diversity of Memphis. The team's first season was in 2010, when they competed in the Mid-South Premier League. In 2012, FC Africa joined the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), where they played for four seasons. In 2016, FC Africa joined the NISA, where they have played ever since.
