History
Southern Stars was founded in 2000 by a group of women who wanted to create a competitive women's football team in Cape Town. The club quickly rose through the ranks of the South African women's football pyramid and won promotion to the Sasol League in 2005.
Southern Stars have been a regular contender for the Sasol League title since their promotion in 2005. They have won the league championship twice, in 2010 and 2014. The club have also won the Sasol League Cup twice, in 2010 and 2013.
