The Derbyshire Ability Counts League provides organised football for Ability Counts teams in Derbyshire and the surrounding area. Current Under-16 participants include sides connected with Chesterfield, Glossop, Mansfield, Meden Vale and Sheffield, showing a regional footprint that extends beyond a single town.

The league is supported by Derbyshire County FA, which publishes an interest route for its Ability Counts programme. Its teams include club-community and community-trust sides as well as dedicated Ability Counts teams.

Youth competition

The current programme includes an Under-16 section, with teams arranged in a league format. Fixtures have been played on Sundays at venues across the region, including centralised sports grounds and club sites.
