Derwent Valley Junior Football League

The Derwent Valley Junior Football League (DVJFL) is an amateur football league for under-16s, under-14s, under-12s, under-10s, and under-8s in the Derwent Valley area of Derbyshire, England.

The league was founded in 1972 and currently has over 50 clubs affiliated to it. The clubs are based in towns and villages in the Derwent Valley, including Bakewell, Matlock, and Buxton.

Season structure

Derwent Valley Junior Football League action

The DVJFL season runs from September to April. Each team plays each other team in their division twice, once at home and once away. The top teams in each division at the end of the season qualify for the playoffs, with the winners of the playoffs being crowned champions.

The DVJFL also runs a number of cup competitions, including the Hill Trophy, the Palmer Trophy, and the Charity Shield.
