Eliteserien is the top-tier professional football league in Norway. It is contested by 16 clubs, each of which plays the others twice, home and away, for a total of 30 games per season. The season runs from March to November.

The current champions are Bodø/Glimt, who won their first title in 2020. The most successful club in the history of the league is Rosenborg, who have won 26 titles.

The Eliteserien was founded in 1937 as the Norgesserien. It was renamed the Eliteserien in 1990.

The league has been dominated by a small number of clubs. Rosenborg have won the title 26 times, followed by Viking with 8 titles and Molde with 7 titles.

Eliteserien teams

The top two teams at the end of the season will qualify for the UEFA Champions League, while the third-placed team will qualify for the UEFA Europa Conference League. The bottom two teams will be relegated to the Norwegian First Division.
