Footie Wannabies

Footie Wannabies is an amateur football league in the UK for adults who are new to the game or who want to play at a more relaxed level. The league was founded in 2015 by two friends who wanted to create a space where people could enjoy playing football without the pressure of competition.

Footie Wannabies teams are made up of players of all abilities, from those who have never played before to those who have played at a higher level in the past. The league plays on Saturday mornings at various pitches around the UK.

Footie Wannabies action

In addition to regular league games, Footie Wannabies also organizes a number of social events for its members, such as pub nights, summer barbecues, and Christmas parties.

Rules

Footie Wannabies games are played under modified rules that are designed to make the game more accessible to players of all abilities. Some of the key rules that differ from traditional football include:

  • There are no offsides.
  • The ball can be played in any direction.
  • There are no throw-ins.
  • The goalkeeper can only use their hands inside the penalty area.

These modified rules make the game more fun and less stressful for players, and they also help to reduce the risk of injuries.
