Introduction
The Lancashire Amateur League (LAL) is an English association football league founded in 1899. It is based in the county of Lancashire and currently consists of five divisions – Premier, One, Two, Three and Four. The Premier Division is at level 14 in the English football league system.The league has a total of 59 clubs, with 12 clubs in the Premier Division, 12 clubs in Division One, 11 clubs in Division Two, 13 clubs in Division Three and 11 clubs in Division Four.

The LAL is affiliated to the Lancashire FA and is a feeder league for the North West Counties Football League.
History
The Lancashire Amateur League was founded in 1899 by a group of football enthusiasts in the county of Lancashire. The league's first season consisted of just four clubs, but it has since grown to become one of the largest amateur football leagues in England.The LAL has seen a number of changes over the years, including the introduction of new divisions and the expansion of the league to include clubs from Greater Manchester.
The LAL has also produced a number of professional footballers, including former England internationals David Dunn and Phil Neville.
Current Season
The current season of the Lancashire Amateur League is the 2022-23 season. The Premier Division is currently being led by Burnley Belvedere, while the other divisions are being led by Chaddertonians, Bury GSOB and Crompton respectively.The LAL season runs from September to April, with each team playing each other twice. The top two teams in each division are promoted to the next division, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the next division.
