SEND school football in Essex
The Latimer League is a football competition for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) schools in Essex. It was created to provide pupils with a dedicated route into competitive school football, with Essex County FA, Essex County Schools FA, Active Essex and the Multi Schools Council involved in its development.

How the competition works
The league uses seven-a-side fixtures in a home-and-away format across the school year. Its flexible arrangement was developed with participating schools, recognising that SEND provision and school schedules vary. This is a schools competition rather than an open-entry club league.
For families and pupils, the relevant route is through a participating SEND school. Schools interested in the competition should contact the Essex County Schools FA or Essex County FA for current participation information, instead of relying on individual fixture listings.
