League 3 is the fourth tier of football in the Netherlands. It is divided into two leagues, the Saturday League and the Sunday League, each containing 18 teams. The top two teams in each league are promoted to the Tweede Divisie, while the bottom two teams in each league are relegated to the Vierde Divisie.
The league was founded in 2010 as the Topklasse, and was renamed to League 3 in 2016. The current champions are ACV (Saturday League) and ADO '20 (Sunday League).
The Topklasse was founded in 2010 as a replacement for the Hoofdklasse, which was disbanded due to financial difficulties. The league was initially made up of the top 18 teams from the Hoofdklasse, as well as two teams from the Eerste Divisie.
In 2016, the Topklasse was renamed to League 3 and the number of teams was reduced to 36. The league was also restructured, with the introduction of a promotion/relegation playoff between the top two teams in League 3 and the bottom two teams in Tweede Divisie.
The current season of League 3 began on 27 August 2023 and is scheduled to end on 14 May 2024. The top two teams in each league will be promoted to Tweede Divisie, while the bottom two teams in each league will be relegated to Vierde Divisie.
The current standings for the Saturday League are as follows:
- Kozakken Boys
- FC Lienden
- Quick '20
- ADO '20
- DVS '33
- De Dijk
- FC Volendam
- Quick Boys
