Regional women’s football in the North East

The North East Regional Women’s Football League is a women’s competition within the regional tier of the English women’s football structure. It brings together clubs from across the North East and adjoining areas, with current teams including sides from Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, County Durham, Teesside and Yorkshire.

The league is part of the group of eight women’s regional leagues recognised by The FA. Its current programme combines a Premier Division with further divisional football, giving clubs a regional competition alongside the county leagues below.

Club football and cup competition

Current entries include established club women’s teams, development sides and community teams. Those different types of club take part in the same regional competition, while specific team allocations can change between seasons.
