Shropshire Junior Football League

The Shropshire Junior Football League is an FA-affiliated grassroots competition for young players and clubs across Shropshire. Its official site records the league's origins in the 1973/74 season, when it began as the Shrewsbury and District Sunday Junior Football League. It later became the Shropshire County Sunday Junior Football League and adopted its present name in 2006.

Junior football and futsal

The league provides outdoor junior football and also runs futsal. Its published 50th-anniversary material records that its futsal festival has run continuously since 2009. That offers a separate small-sided indoor format alongside the outdoor competition programme. Current age groups, fixtures, results and tables are maintained on FA Full-Time.

A county-wide league with safeguarding commitments

The competition is affiliated to Shropshire FA. Its safeguarding policy says it follows the FA Safeguarding Children Policy and Procedures and that the welfare of children and young people is paramount. It also states that the league works with clubs to ensure safeguarding policies are shared and promoted among their members.
