South Coast Football Festival

This is a festival organisation rather than a weekly league: teams enter a weekend event, with the published programme split between youth football and women’s and girls’ football. It is designed for teams rather than individual player registration, so a player looking to take part would normally approach a team or club that is entering.

Youth football

The Saturday programme is for youth teams. The published format begins with non-competitive Under-7 five-a-side football, followed by Under-8 five-a-side, Under-9 and Under-10 seven-a-side, and six-a-side football from Under-11 to Under-14. Cup and plate knockout stages are part of the published format for the competitive youth age groups.

That progression gives parents and coaches a clear guide to the type of football offered, but age-group arrangements can be updated from one festival to the next. Teams should always check the organiser’s current information before making plans.

Women’s and girls’ sections

The Sunday programme includes women’s open-age, 30-plus and recreational six-a-side football, women’s walking football for players aged 40-plus, and women’s flexi recreational seven-a-side football. Girls’ teams in the Under-14 to Under-16 range are also included in the published programme, playing six-a-side.

The festival states that it is sanctioned by its county FA and uses qualified referees, first aiders and safeguarding checks.
