Girls’ and women’s football in Staffordshire

The Staffordshire Girls and Ladies Football League (SGLFL) is a county-wide competition for female football in Staffordshire. It brings together girls’ and open-age women’s teams, providing an organised route from younger football into the adult game. Staffordshire FA identifies the league as serving players from under-8 level through to open age.

The league’s own site presents it as a home for women’s football across the county, spanning grassroots girls taking their first steps and experienced ladies’ teams. That broad focus makes the competition relevant both to families seeking a girls’ team and to players looking for adult women’s football in Staffordshire.

Joining and keeping track

The SGLFL website includes a Find A Team service and player-wanted listings for people exploring local opportunities. Its age calculator can also help families understand age-group eligibility. These resources sit alongside league news and information for clubs.
