The Wolverhampton and District Sunday Football League (WDSFL) is an amateur football league in the West Midlands, England. It was founded in 1920 and currently has 5 divisions, with over 100 teams competing. The league is affiliated to the Staffordshire County FA and is eligible to enter teams into the FA Sunday Cup.

History

The WDSFL was founded in 1920 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The league started with just 6 teams, but it has grown steadily over the years and now has over 100 teams competing. The league has been home to some famous players over the years, including Wolves legend Billy Wright.

Divisions

The WDSFL currently has 5 divisions:

  • Division One
  • Division Two
  • Division Three
  • Division Four
  • Division Five

The top teams in each division are promoted to the next division at the end of the season, while the bottom teams are relegated to the next division.

Cup Competitions

The WDSFL also runs a number of cup competitions, including:

  • The Hawkins Sports Sunday Charity Cup
  • The AFC Willenhall Tom Bird Cup
  • The Wolverhampton Sunday League Cup
  • The Wolverhampton Sunday League Trophy

The cup competitions are a great way for teams to win silverware and qualify for the FA Sunday Cup.
