Introduction
The York Minster Engineering Football League is an amateur football league based in North Yorkshire, England. It was founded in 1897 and is currently sponsored by Minster Engineering.
The league has a total of 53 clubs, divided into four divisions: Premier Division, Division One, Division Two, and Division Three. There are also three reserve divisions.
The top clubs in the Premier Division are promoted to the Northern Counties East League, while the bottom clubs in Division Three are relegated to the York & District Football League.
The league also runs a number of cup competitions, including the Senior Cup, Junior Cup, and Reserve Cup.
History
The York Minster Engineering Football League was founded in 1897 as the York & District Football League. It was renamed the York Football League in 1977, and then the York Minster Engineering Football League in 2018.
The league has been won by a number of clubs over the years, including Fulford United, Huntington Rovers, and Wigginton Grasshoppers.
Current Season
The current season of the York Minster Engineering Football League is the 2022-23 season. The Premier Division is currently being led by Wigginton Grasshoppers, with Fulford United and Huntington Rovers in second and third place respectively.
The league's cup competitions are also currently underway. The Senior Cup is being contested by 32 clubs, while the Junior Cup is being contested by 24 clubs.
