Away league match played on 10 October 2010.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

Yet another defeat this week in league for the Don and with the display we can have no complaints.

As the match started the Don lined up with a strong line up after just 14 mins Dalton took the lead, Dalton attacked down the right, we didn't close down the winger in time and he knocked the ball into the area of the left winger in the centre of the park who was failed to be picked up, and when the defence backed off the Left winger just took the ball into box and dispatched a fine lob into the top corner.

Still the Don didn't get into the game and again Dalton attacked but they found the resistance of our defence with a great tackle from Lee when they were racing through, again they attacked and with a great shot from the edge of the area our keeper Steve Arrowsmith only just managed to get his finger tips to the strike which rattled against the bar for Matt Phillips to clear the ball with his head. The Don finally started to come in to the game but didn't create any great chances in the first half. The rest of the half was a pretty even affair.

Half Time 1 - 0

The second half started brightly with the Don stringing together so great passing moves, one resulted in a great shot by Tom Groom only for the keeper to pull off a good save, the rebound fell to Wayne two yards out, the keeper on the floor but the chance wasn't taken, in fact it ended up going for a throw in, a miss which he'll never forget. Only moments later poor tracking down the left hand side let there right winger take the ball down the line and wip it in, Gaz Plant did a great job tracking his man only for him fail to challenge there left winger who was left with a free header from 12 yards outs, he headed it back across the goal into the bottom corner.

Lee decided to make a change and bring the pacey and hard working Karl Rocket on for the Skillful Ben Carroll. Moment's later poor tracking on the left allowed there winger to drive into our box whilst our defence was all over the place he hit a shot to be blocked by Matt Phillips, again another two shots rained in only for Matt to block them. A couple of mins later Lee went off looking injured for Bushy. These changes didn't really make much impact as Dalton started to look the stronger side. To try and swing things back into the Don's favour the final sub was made and Dom Blythe was brought on for Gaz Plant.

The Don pushed forward and was caught out, Dalton cleared the ball high up into the air, there right winger was allowed far to much time and wasn't closed down by Rocky, he controled the ball, set himself and then clip a ball into the box, the resulting ball was headed into the air by there forward, he was then allowed time to control the resulting ball turn and then lay a pass out to the back post for there left winger to finish well and slot into the bottom left of the Don's goal.

With time ticking out and nothing to lose Lee changed the formation and only left two at the back, in the final mins of the game Dalton broke free, he was clear through, one on one with stephen who pulled off a fine save the ball fell straight to there other forward who was clearly off side but was allowed to play on, his resulting shot ran along the line hit the post and unluckly for the Don bounced into our net.

The match was now dead and buried! if we play like this again  then we can't expect much out of the season. the lack of effort from some people today was shocking, if the Don want to achieve anything this year then we all need to try much harder. Let's hope next week we get 110% from everyone.
