Home league match played on 16 November 2008.
Kicked off at 10:45 AM

It was certainly a bad day at the office as Boythorpe crashed back to earth after the 11-2 gubbing of Ranch Rovers last time out. Problems started as early as the FIRST minute as Butchers swept forward and a clever move saw the striker with what appeard an easy chance, he elected to hammer the ball towards goal and it caught Potter on the head and deflected up onto the bar before being hacked clear by the home defence. Butchers kept up the pressure and Potter had to be on his toes again pushing a snap shot away for a corner on 4 mins. The Boythorpe defence were all at sea and had difficulty clearing thier lines, and after 10 mins Hardy dwelled too long on the ball, but the effort was scrambled clear again. The first bright spot for Boythorpe came on 11 mins when a quick free kick caught Butchers out and the visitors were lucky to escape with giving away a corner. Joy for them was short lived as Walton swung over a great corner which the defence failed to clear, and the ball found BROWN lurking on the edge of the box, he sent his shot bobbling through a sea of legs and into the bottom corner. Straight from the restart Whitehead swung at a clearance and the ball was gratefully caught by Potter under pressure. After 15 mins good work by Wright and Widerman saw the striker get to the byline and pull the ball across the box to Goodwin whose effort was just over. Butchers got back on level terms after 19 mins when yet another mistake at the back was fired into the top corner of Potters goal. From the kick off Boythorpe pushed forward and were unlucky not to get a penalty when a Wright effort seemed to hit the defenders arm on the line, but protests were waved away. Butchers took a deserved lead on 22 mins as the defence were cut open again. They further increased the lead 6 mins later as Boythorpe failed to mark a Butchers throw, and the visitors scored easily. Potter saved Boythorpe further embarrassment on the half hour making another cracking save. 3-1 became 4-1 after 35 mins as Boythorpe couldnt cope. Boythorpe still pushed forward and Wright had a stinging shot parried by the keeper on 41 mins, the keeper then made a great save 2 mins later as Brown almost caught him out with a 35 yd rasping effort.    HALF TIME   Boythorpe..1 Butchers Arms..4

The team had a major dressing down at half time, and from the restart Boythorpe attempted to knock the ball about until the move broke down and Butchers swept forward and made it 5-1 far too easily. After 50 mins Widerman raced clear after being put through by Higginbottom, and his superb cross was met by Wright but his effort was just too high. After 55 mins Mick Cartwright replaced Whitehead who was out of sorts, but Butchers made it 6-1 just 3 mins later as Boythorpe were still being cut open at the back. Bonson who was one of the few having a half decent game had to be replaced on 67 mins through injury. Brown attempted what would have been the goal of the season on 74 mins as he tried to catch out the visiting keeper with a 50 yard free kick, luckily for him, he just managed to push the effort over the bar.  Boythorpe still continued to push forward and reward eventually came on 78 mins when a ball in from Goodwin was met sweetly by WIDERMANS head giving the keeper no chance. This just made Butchers push forward again and they restored thier 5 goal lead 2 mins later. As the game drew to a close GOODWIN got his name on the scoresheet converting a Waton cross with a smart headed finish.  FULL TIME   Boythorpe...3 Butchers Arms..7
